Band Profile

De la latino is your one-way ticket to the sizzling, scorching sounds of LATIN AMERICA and the CARIBBEAN. The 11-piece lineup (2 vocalists, 3 percussionists, 4 horns, piano and bass) lends itself to an expansive ‘BIG BAND’ sound – without losing the dynamism and spark of a small group; and combines sensuous vocals, sophisticated horn lines and explosive percussion solos. With their vision to unite the rhythms of the Americas, their music is uplifting, inspiring and unifying, and celebrates the melting pot of cultures.

Line up

De la latino offers an 11-piece band as its standard line-up, however, it breaks down into a range of ‘basic packages’ – ‘Standard’ (10/11-piece), ‘Instrumental’ (9-piece), ‘Medium’ (7/8-piece) and ‘Small’ (5/6-piece) – each with their own line-up/instrumentation combinations. De La Latino also offers a range of ‘optional extras’ including jazz/string quartet, guest vocalists, salsa dance tuition and DJ services. Both the ‘basic packages’ and ‘optional extras’ can be combined and substituted with one another – providing you with even more choice and flexibility.

Whilst ‘salsa’ remains the focus of what they do, De la latino isn’t your regular ‘salsa band’... It’s a Latin band, in the wider sense; freely mixing ‘salsa’ idioms with other influences – African, Spanish, Antillean, Caribbean, South and North American – to bring you a fresh, funky and unique Latin music experience.
